Privacy Policy

Choppd is a cooking app. We keep this short and honest: we collect only what the app needs to work, we don't run ads, and we don't sell your data.

What we collect

Your email address — for passwordless sign-in. We send you a one-time code; there are no passwords.
Cook activity — the cooks you complete, your ratings, and any feedback you send. This is how the app tracks your progress and improves the recipes.
Camera — only when you use the fridge scan. A photo of your ingredients is sent securely, used only to identify what you have, and immediately discarded. We never store your photos, and our provider processes them solely to identify ingredients — never for advertising or training.
Music library — only if you choose to play your own Apple Music while cooking. We access playback; we don't collect or store anything about your library.
Technical basics — like your IP address and device type in routine server logs, used only to keep Choppd secure and working.

How we use it

To run your account, remember your cooks, match recipes to your ingredients, and make the app better. That's it.

How long we keep it

Your account and cook history are kept while your account is active. Delete your account and they're removed from our systems within 30 days. Sign-in codes expire in minutes and aren't kept. Fridge-scan photos are processed and immediately discarded. Routine server logs are kept up to 90 days for security, then deleted.

What we don't do

No ads.
We do not sell your data.
No sharing with third parties beyond the service providers we need to run Choppd: Resend (sends your sign-in emails), AWS (hosting and storage), and Anthropic (identifies ingredients in fridge-scan photos). They process data on our behalf, not for their own use.

Deleting your data

Delete your account anytime in Settings → Delete account — this removes your account and cook history from our systems. You can also email support@getchoppd.app.

You can also revoke camera or music access anytime in iOS Settings → Choppd — the app keeps working, minus those features.

Emails

We may occasionally email you product updates. Every one has an unsubscribe link. Sign-in codes are separate and always sent.

Children

Choppd isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
